The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

PICK 'N' ROLL

Thursday's Best NBA Bets

Washington Wizards at Minnesota Timberwolves (-4, 207)

The Washington Wizards have hoped that trading away Gilbert Arenas would give Nick Young a chance to assert himself with more playing time. It took a while, but maybe Tuesday’s performance was what Young needed to get himself going.

The 6-foot-7 guard scored a career-high 43 points on 14-of-22 shooting in a 136-133 win in overtime over Sacramento, with Washington set as a 7-point favorite.

"You almost didn't want to take him out because he was so hot," coach Flip Saunders said about Young, who was also 7 of 10 from downtown. "I have always had that philosophy that you never want to take a guy out that might have a chance to break Wilt Chamberlain's record."

Outside of Young’s big night, the Wizards still had lots of issues on Tuesday. They blew a 20-point lead in the first quarter and then nearly coughed up a five-point advantage in overtime.

Still, if Young can produce another solid outing against a Timberwolves club that is expected to be without Michael Beasley, they might have a shot at snapping a 19-game road slump that dates back to last season.

PICK: Washington Wizards

Miami Heat at Denver Nuggets (+4, 205)

So, at least for the moment, Carmelo Anthony is still a member of the Denver Nuggets. The reality is that he’s likely on his way out of town sooner or later, but for now the team has to deal with the distraction of the trade chatter.

The Nuggets hammered the Phoenix Suns 132-98 on Tuesday with ‘Melo contributing 28 points in the blowout. But Denver faces a totally different animal on Thursday against the Heat.

"The reason I think they're good is they play with such mental toughness and energy," Denver coach George Karl told reporters.

"I mean, they're a talented bunch of guys, but they're also a 'play hard' bunch of guys. Playing hard is so important to this game. When you get confused or when you lose your confidence, you get a little distraction or a confrontation, what usually goes out the window first is playing with energy."

Funny, there aren’t any type of distractions kicking around Karl’s locker room these days are there? The Heat will come into Denver and make a statement here.

PICK: Miami Heat

College funds: Thursday's best NCAAB bets

No. 8 Purdue at No. 25 Minnesota (4, 135.5)

With Robbie Hummel on the shelf for the year, it was hard to know what to expect from the Boilermakers. It’s safe to say that they’re surpassing expectations without the former Big Ten player of the year.

As it is Purdue has already won its first four conference games and has covered the number in five straight. E’Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson are still the main duo for Purdue, but the club is starting to get some production from outside sources.

"When you think about Purdue, you think about E'Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson," coach Matt Painter said. "That's where it starts, and if you're going to double up on Johnson, or if you're going to kind of shade E'Twaun Moore on a screen, there's going to be people open."

Both Moore and Johnson are struggling a bit lately but Ryne Smith has picked up the slack, putting up about 17 points per game over the last four. He had 18 points and hit six treys in 75-72 win over Iowa on Sunday.

If all three of those guys can get it going at the same time, Purdue should be able to cover the number.

Pick: Purdue

No. 24 Virginia Tech at North Carolina (-6, 140)

The Virginia Tech Hokies have a pretty good idea about what they’re going to try against the Tar Heels on Thursday. But they don’t have any idea if it’s going to work.

The Tar Heels have the advantage in individual talent and size, leaving the Hokies to try to stick with what’s working and go from there.

"You're talking about a team with seven McDonald's All-Americans and the high school Player of the Year," Hokies coach Seth Greenberg told reporters. "They've got so many pieces. They're really a complete team."

"We still have to run. We've got to score easy baskets. No matter who you are, how you play, the team that scores the most easy baskets wins a lot of scenarios. So, we've still got to run and get some things in transition."

There’s no arguing that, but it’s not going to be that easy for the Hokies. We think the Tar Heels will make the necessary adjustments.

Pick: North Carolina

Ice picks: Thursday's best NHL bets

Ottawa Senators at New York Islanders (+105, 5.5)

This matchup could be crowned the toilet-bowl game on Thursday’s schedule. These two NHL bottom feeders collide in New York, with both clubs hoping to snap losing skids.

The Islanders’ two-game slide looks like a stubbed toe compared to the freefall in Canada’s capital. The Senators have dropped six games in a row and have only two wins in the past 10 games. Their most recent loss was the worst of the bunch – a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of the Boston Bruins Tuesday.

"We're trying to build off the last few games and it just seems that we missing things here and there," defenseman Matt Carkner told the Ottawa Citizen. "Right now we just can't make things happen in the offensive zone. It's just not clicking and the puck's not going in the net for us."

Ottawa’s hasn’t put up much of a fight during this slump, getting outscored 24-7 in those six outings. The Senators are averaging one goal per game to start the New Year and rank 29th in the NHL in scoring per game, with an average of just 2.9 goals on the season.

New York hasn’t had that trouble in recent weeks. The Isles may have lost two straight outings but are 6-4 in their last 10 games, averaging three goals a night in that span. It doesn’t take a math wiz to know that three is greater than one.

Pick: New York

Toronto Maple Leafs at Phoenix Coyotes (-155, 5.5)

The Maple Leafs are loving life on the West Coast.

Not only do they avoid the terrible Toronto winter, but they’re beating up on Western foes, extending their winning streak to four games with a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks Tuesday. Toronto closes out this four-game road swing in the desert against the Coyotes Thursday.

The goals have been stacking up for the Leafs, who have netted 22 in this four-game span. Leading the charge on offense is star forward Phil Kessel, who has scored five goals during this streak. Kessel was named to the NHL All-Star Team Tuesday and backed up that selection with a goal against the Sharks.

“He’s among the elite in this league and he’s fun to play with,” centre Tyler Bozak said of Kessel. “We’ve all had our struggles with the goals not going in but he’s still got a lot of goals and that’s unbelievable.

“You know he’s going to produce all the time. He deserves to be named to the all-star game.”

The Maple Leafs have played over the total in three of their last four outings and own an 11-0-1 over/under mark in their past 12 games against Phoenix.

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Thursday's wagering tips

Who’s hot

NBA: Washington has covered eight of its last nine meetings with Minnesota.

NBA: Miami is 11-2 ATS in its last 13 road games.

NHL: Vancouver is riding a 14-0-3 hot streak.

Who’s not

NBA: Denver is 1-3-1 against the number in its last five.

NHL: Edmonton is 1-7-2 in its last 10 and has won only 14 of its last 60 road games.

NCAAB: Stanford has dropped its last five meetings with Washington against the spread.

NCAAB: UCLA is 2-6-1 ATS in its last nine games.

Key stat

88.9 – points per game the Washington Huskies average heading into Thursday’s date with Stanford, which is the third-best offensive output in the country. The Huskies will be up against a tough defense against Stanford, which allows only 60 points per contest.

Injury that shouldn’t be overlooked

Andray Blatche (shoulder), Washington Wizards – Blatche was forced to leave Tuesday’s loss to San Antonio with a sprained shoulder and is considered day-to-day. The club hoped he would feel better Wednesday, but Blatche said he was still in pain and didn’t sleep well. He missed Wednesday’s practice and is doubtful for Thursday’s game against Minnesota. The Washington big man is averaging better than 16 points and eight rebounds per game.

Game of the day

Orlando Magic at Oklahoma City Thunder (1, 205)

Notable quotable

"Crazy. Karma is a b****.. Gets you every time. Its not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!" - LeBron James tweeted after the Cavs' 55-point loss to the Lakers on Tuesday.

Notes and tips

Michael Beasley will likely have to take at least a few days off after spraining his left ankle for the third time on Tuesday. Beasley said that he “really can’t walk this time,” following Tuesday’s loss to San Antonio and is very doubtful for Thursday’s game against Washington. Beasley is averaging 20.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

According to the Daily News, the New York Knicks have entered the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes in a big way with talks with New Jersey breaking down. Apparently, the Knicks are willing to part with two of these three players: Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Landry Fields. Eddy Curry and at least one first-round pick would also be involved. The Nuggets square off against the Miami Heat on Thursday.

The San Jose Sharks may be without rookie sniper Logan Couture for a while after he collided with Colton Orr during the second period of Wednesday’s loss to Toronto and didn’t return. The team isn’t releasing details about Couture’s injury, but reports indicate San Jose is still awaiting test results, though coach Todd McLellan said he didn’t “blow out” his knee. San Jose hosts the Oilers on Thursday.
